Self-reflection has its benefits

Throughout history, 12 is a number for when something is complete. Eggs come by the dozen; there were 12 tasks for Hercules to complete, there are 12 months in the year, and there are 12 days of Christmas. All of which is a roundabout way of saying that, for us, 12 years of PACH Solutions meant it was a good time to re-brand; to look at how we became the PACH Solutions of 2020 and what makes us genuinely different.

There are huge benefits to a self-reflective exercise. Read on to see why we encourage you to do the same.

What works:

When we left the corporate world in 2008, we did so in the full knowledge that we would need to offer something different to challenge the big boys of consulting. We couldn’t match them on the manpower to process mountains of data.

Focus on the Frontline

First and foremost, we have learnt that our clients really value our emphasis on frontline sales as a way to solve commercial problems and go to market with brands. We have always prided ourselves in our sales roots, because we all started in the corporate world as sales reps and believe that corporate strategy and success is built on a healthy and dynamic sales force. As a starting point in any client engagement you will always find us out in the field understanding what it takes to be a sales person.

Agility

We are more agile (professionally at least)  and not encumbered by processes….meaning that we can deliver results faster, and help the client implement as well.

We capitalise on this in the form of our commercial diagnostic. A one to two week tool that we have used as the first step for all of our clients, with 52 of them resulting in recommendations that the client has asked us to implement. It’s the bedrock of our commercial re-engineering and it will continue to be so.

Why it works:

Recognising the Power of People

Each of the standout memories over the last 12 years has come from personal interactions with clients, friends, or people we met along the way.

We have worked with a host of brilliant brands and companies, from Coca-Cola to JTI to Heineken, with each project posing a different challenge for us to tackle. But time and again, a major part of the solution was unlocking the potential of our clients’ employees and empowering them to enact positive change. We put a lot of stock in helping others to help themselves, and the knowledge that doing our job helps others excel will continue to be a driving force for us.

Celebrating Success

At this point, you’re probably thinking that surely we already knew this. Well… yes, but reflection doesn’t necessarily need to be about growth, it also allows a moment to recognise when you have done good work, and celebrate. There’s great value in that, especially in a world where there’s always another deadline around the corner. It also helps you to re-focus on who you are - and we did just that.

It’s a belief and a way of working that carries through to our work with clients. We celebrate the end of a project with a closing party…on us! We believe a job well done is worth giving all those hard working project team members a well earned congratulations and a pat on the back. Our treat.

Who we are:

Thanks to our friends at Mad Dog, LDNS Design, and particularly BR-ND People who offered their services to us free of charge we were able to piece this one together. On the face of it, they helped us create a new logo, a brand bible, a new website, and a core slogan:

As it is so often is when good friends sit down together to talk, reflect, and get slightly nostalgic, the process has been an enjoyable one. But as we continued up this road, alongside help from brand consultants, the journey evolved into a wholly insightful one. From it we learned what works, why it does, and who we are.

If you enjoyed your introduction to PACH Solutions and you need help in re-engineering your own company, then we’d love to hear from you.
